The eZo Festival: More than just music
Mzesumzira - started as a small group of friends passionate about music and the arts. Over the years, they grew into a key part of Tbilisi’s cultural life by providing opportunities for artists and music lovers to connect, share, and explore new creative ideas. Their mission was simple: to support and nurture the local arts scene while inviting fresh and diverse expressions to light up the city.
The eZo Festival, organized by Mzesumzira, became one of Tbilisi’s most exciting annual events. It was best known for its broad range of music styles, especially electronic sounds, but it didn’t stop there. The festival also showcased visual art, performances, and installations that created a rich, immersive atmosphere. This blend of music and art made the experience feel fresh and engaging for everyone who attended.
The festival featured everything from underground electronic beats to melodic rhythms, bringing together both local and international DJs. The lineup was carefully curated to ensure there was something for different tastes, reflecting the open and eclectic spirit of Tbilisi’s nightlife. Attendees often found themselves discovering new sounds and connecting with artists in a way that felt personal and inspiring.
Over the years, eZo became more than just a festival. Thousands of people came together to enjoy the music, discover new talents, and soak in the creative vibe. The festival helped put Tbilisi on the map as a hub for innovative arts and music, attracting visitors who wanted to be part of something unique.
Tbilisi’s nightlife was famed for being lively, creative, and welcoming, and eZo was a big part of why that was true. The festival provided a space where new ideas were born and artists could push boundaries. It inspired others to develop similar projects, enriching the city’s cultural life and giving locals and visitors alike plenty to look forward to.
One of the most exciting chapters in the festival's story unfolded with the introduction of eZo Live, a project designed to showcase the incredible talent of the Georgian alternative music scene. This initiative allowed local artists to take the stage, sharing their unique sounds and stories with an enthusiastic audience. The anticipation was palpable as a new performance space was unveiled, setting the stage for unforgettable live concerts that resonated with Attendees.
Alongside the music, MZESUMZIRA’s Café emerged as a beloved gathering spot within the festival grounds. It offered a cozy atmosphere where festival-goers could relax, enjoy delicious vegetarian food, and engage in various activities like basketball, table tennis, and even yoga. The café became a hub for creativity, hosting workshops, exhibitions, and film screenings, all while fostering a sense of community and connection.

eZo club nights
While the eZo Festival may be coming to an end, the spirit of eZo will continue to resonate through a series of eZo Club Nights held in unique venues throughout the summer. The farewell will take place in the original venue that sparked the festival's journey, a location imbued with the magic and adventure that has always characterized eZo.
When we come together for this last time — to dance, to laugh, to be with each other — it’s a moment to treasure, to hold close. Because these memories, these feelings of joy and belonging, will stay with us forever, long after the last note fades.
So let’s make this farewell one filled with love, celebration, and hope. Let’s hold each other close and celebrate not only the end of an era but the incredible journey we shared. The festival may be ending, but the heart of eZo — the love, the unity, the music — will live on with every one of us.
